Macarthur Place is a Sonoma hotel that is the most historic estate in the valley. This estate is located in the middle of the city of Sonoma. The dominant structure is the 1850’s two-story Victorian house that was part of the Burris-Good estate. In 1997 the property was converted to incorporate new buildings constructed to match the established Victorian architecture. Today there are 64 rooms, a conference facility, a restaurant and a full service spa located on the estates grounds.
To accent the Victorian heritage of this estate the grounds were landscaped with over 100 species of trees. This includes 12 different fruit bearing varieties, a rose garden, fishpond and water fountains with over 30 original sculptures to complement the natural creek that runs along the western edge of the estate. By following one of the many paths set out for guest, they can enjoy all of this that spans for 7 acres.
The overnight accommodations are categorized in 5 different areas. This includes Garden Spa Suites, Cabana Suites, Premium Suites and Cottages, Deluxe Guest rooms and Suites to fit the guests’ needs for comfort and luxury. Each room has amenities to help the guest feel at home that include walk in showers, color televisions, grape seed bath amenities, bathrobes, ironing boards, two-line phones with data centers, refrigerators, coffee makers and twice a day maid service. The spa offers 40 different massages, facial and body treatments that utilize flowers, herbs and plants found in their gardens.
